Chromate conversion coatings on an aluminum substrate are known by the following terms: chemical film, yellow iridite and the brand names Iridite and Alodine. Chromate conversion coatings are commonly applied to everyday items such as hardware and tools, and can usually be recognized by their distinctively iridescent, greenish-yellow color. Matte finish 90/10 deposit provides excellent solderability characteristics. Fin-Tec specializes in tin lead plating for the electronics industry. The addition of lead to an otherwise pure tin bath makes the deposit whisker-resistant and is required for many government applications.
