P5 series AC synchronous motors utilise two coils and an external phasing capacitor to enable the direction of rotation to be electrically controlled.
The 12 pole motor design provides low fixed speed operation with the consequenyial benefit of low operating noise and smooth rotation at a constant speed, synchronous with the mains supply frequency.
