In the world of military and industrial engineering, electrical system protection components must comply with strict standards of reliability and performance. Among the most established and widely used solutions are circuit breakers, certified under the following standards:

MIL-PRF-39019 – A stringent standard for breakers used in military applications
MIL-STD-55629 – Defines additional mechanical and electrical requirements for critical systems.

These breakers have proven themselves over many years in demanding environments: they are compact, provide fast and reliable response, and are suitable for a wide range of applications. As technology evolves, complementary solutions have emerged to provide additional layers of protection—particularly in an era of intelligent, fast-response, and communication-shielded systems.

Typical wiring example of a Gilgal Power SPP unit – includes input voltage, ENABLE command, load, and ground path.

It provides several layers of intelligent protection:

  • Full replacement for circuit breaker and diode protections – no need for separate devices
  • Complete reverse polarity protection – circuit is safe even under incorrect wiring, including automatic recovery
  • Surge & Spike protection – up to 600V per MIL-STD-1275F and MIL-STD-704
  • Auto Recovery – automatic return to operation after fault without manual reset
  • High efficiency up to 99% – almost no power loss, even at high current
  • Remote Enable – protection can be activated/deactivated via logic signal
  • Noise filtering – complies with MIL-STD-461 (CE101, CS101, etc.) to suppress return noise to power supply

  • Input voltage (Vin) spikes from 28V to 100V for a brief period (1–1.2 ms)
  • Output voltage (Vout) remains protected and clamped at 36V during the disturbance
