Temperature Probes – Industrial, Medical, HVAC and Automotive Applications
Amironic Ltd. is the official distributor of Variohm Eurosensor in Israel, supplying a wide range of temperature probes and temperature sensors for demanding applications across industry, medical systems, HVAC, automotive, and energy sectors.
Our portfolio includes NTC, PT100 and PT1000 temperature probes, available in multiple mechanical formats, sealing levels, and customization options to fit real-world engineering constraints.
What is a Temperature Probe?
A temperature probe is a type of temperature sensor designed to measure thermal conditions in a system and convert them into an electrical signal that can be monitored or controlled.
Most probes operate based on one of the following sensing principles:
- NTC thermistors – resistance decreases as temperature increases
- RTDs (PT100 / PT1000) – resistance increases linearly with temperature
- PTC sensors – used in specific protection or switching applications
In practical systems, the probe measures temperature by detecting a change in electrical resistance, which is then converted into voltage or current and read by a controller, PLC, or monitoring system.
Why Temperature Probes Matter in Real Systems
Temperature measurement is not just a sensor selection problem – it is a system engineering decision.
The right probe must match:
- mechanical integration (surface, threaded, immersion, clamp)
- environmental conditions (oil, moisture, vibration, IP rating)
- thermal response time
- required accuracy and stability
- installation constraints and cost targets
This is why temperature probes are available in many different form factors and mounting styles.
